Cluckz Chicken – Tampa’s First Gourmet Fried Chicken Mobile Kitchen

February 19, 2014 | By | Reply More

A few months ago while perusing Instagram and Facebook I saw a post about a new food truck in town called Cluckz Chicken. This mobile kitchen serves Asian-inspired chicken wings such as Soy Garlic, Sriracha Chili, and Spoony BBQ. I tried the Soy Garlic and Sriracha Chili during my visit to the truck and both were excellent. The crispy french fries that are served as a side were also great and the students were piling up for some at The Venue at North Campus. The portions are fair for the price as well.

These were some saucy wings excuse the mess :p

I am honestly a little surprised it took so long for a chicken mobile food business to come to town with sports bars and chicken wings being such a hot item in Tampa Bay. The Asian twist is also refreshing with today’s Sriracha-craze taking the food world by storm. It is nice to have something different besides the overexposed Teriyaki wings to order! I expect to see lots of success from this mobile kitchen.

The inside of the mobile kitchen is spotless and everything including the wrap is modern and stands on its own. You can see right into the kitchen as they are cooking your food.

The owner of Cluckz Chicken, Jordan Phan, is actually still a student at the University of South Florida which is awesome. Initiative at such a young age is what makes me proud to be a USF Bull. Mr. Phan was inspired by chicken spots up north to create a new chicken establishment in Tampa. I am happy to have been their first customer to swipe a card on their Square card reader. Best of luck!
