The Social Fresh EAST social media conference will occur in Tampa, Florida on April 18th, 2013 and run through the 19th at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Tampa Westshore (4500 West Cypress Street). The conference hotel rate is $139 for attendees with more information on booking available on the Social Fresh EAST conference website. The social media conference is on its 4th year in Tampa.
Some notable Speakers include Adam Kmiec who is the Director of Global Digital Marketing and Social Media at The Campbell Soup Company, Kevin Vine who is the Interactive Marketing Manager for Dunkin Donuts’ brand division, and Morgan Johnston who is the Corporate Communications Manager for JetBlue Airways, among many other successful social media leaders from around the country with 15 total speakers.
One of the most exciting things about any conference is getting like-minded people into a room and the connecting together to share their insight and knowledge and that is one of the most attractive things about Social Fresh EAST. How many times can you get a New York Times published writer and espnW’s Director of Social Media Strategy and Products into the same room?
The conference runs with one speaker at a time instead of through panels, which allows for a more focused conference. One interesting topic on the agenda is “Lessons for social media marketers from the 2012 elections”, which was one of the most social election periods in history with President Obama breaking retweet records and coordinating trending topics with debates and campaign moments. Candidates also used Tumblr and Reddit in new ways to help spread their message like never before.
“Breaking through the clutter: Using content, analytics, and paid to achieve ROIsquared” is a topic that also caught my eye. The rise of so many social media services and also businesses that use them has made it increasingly important to focus on the ROI of a campaign to help justify social media use for businesses. This topic will be lead by Chris Tuff who is the SVP – Director of Earned and Emerging Media at 22Squared. He was one of the first marketers to work directly with Facebook back in 2005.
Another great topic is “How to develop your mobile first strategy”, which is huge due to the rising importance of mobile to users shifting from desktops and laptops to mobile phones and tablets for internet and information consumption. My website like most of the internet has seen increasing mobile traffic every year and this is heavily impacting how marketers can reach people.
Vanessa Sain-Dieguez, Social Media Director of Hilton Hotels & Resorts, said at Social Fresh EAST 2012 that she was “blown away by the content and people” at Social Fresh EAST and that she is a regular conference attendee around the country.
Networking receptions will be held on each day of the conference in the evenings.
The Huffington Post has a recap post on Social Fresh EAST 2012 that is a great read. Ad 2 Tampa Bay also has a good read about the conference. Checking out Social Fresh’s slideshare page gives access to plenty of useful information from years past as well.
