New restaurants coming to the Brandon area this summer

If you’re a resident in Brandon, there is plenty to be excited about this summer. The Westfield Brandon Shopping Center will be adding Bahama Breeze and Red Robin to their vast list of restaurants. Now you can the gas from driving all the way to Clearwater for Bahama Breeze’s fantastic Ultimate Pina Colada and burger sliders (although I do love sitting outside at the waterfront Clearwater location).

Square One Burgers will also be coming to Brandon and replacing the former Old Chicago Pizza this summer as well. After the closing of Big Belly Burgers late last year – Brandon needs a burger pick-me-up and Square One and Red Robin are sure to start a burger battle in the area.

In addition, if you live on 301 the new Publix on Faulkenburg and 301 is bringing some new restaurants to its plaza and will soon be the home of Pho Hoang Vietnamese restaurant and Crazy Cafe Japanese Restaurant. The verdict is still out on those restaurants as they continue to build towards completion. One thing is for sure – summer will be filled with new businesses for Brandon residents to explore.

Update: Lee Roy Selmon’s is also coming to Brandon this summer.

In a battle between Red Robin and Square 1, the former is really bringing a knife to a gun fight.

Square 1 is pretty fantastic. A bit pricey, but very good nonetheless. The ingredients are top-quality, and they do take care in their food. The only qualm I have with the location near me is that they have had a tendency to overcook my burger each time.

Yep – the Square 1 on Henderson in South Tampa is excellent. Can’t wait to have them in Brandon.

Ate at Pho Hoang today. Disappointed that they do not have the Bahn Mi sandwiches. Ordered combination pho and spring rolls to go. Pho was average but did not enjoy the spring rolls, too rubbery. The small pho was enough for two meals. A diner on his way out strongly recommended the grilled noodles, may try them next time.
